The lake, also called Skeleton Lake, is situated at an elevation of approximately 4,536 meters (14,882 feet) and is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, including Trishul, Nanda Ghunti, and Chaukhamba peaks.

The trek begins in Lohajung and takes trekkers through dense forests, alpine meadows like Ali and Bedni Bugyal, and challenging snow-covered terrain.
